Full scholarship including tuition fees plus other related study expenses
The CIMB ASEAN Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship for undergraduate (and in some cases postgraduate) studies, offered to eligible citizens of ASEAN countries (including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.). It covers tuition fees and related academic costs, as well as living expenses, allowances, and other study‑related costs (e.g. books, laptop, visa/flight if going abroad).
Besides funding, scholars receive career mentorship from CIMB, internship opportunities during study breaks, and — upon graduation — a placement opportunity with CIMB through its structured graduate programme (e.g. “The Complete Banker™” management‑trainee scheme). The scholarship aims to produce well-rounded graduates with both academic and practical skills, ready to contribute to the banking/finance industry in ASEAN.
The selection emphasises strong academic record (pre‑university or early university results), good leadership and extracurricular involvement, maturity, communication and teamwork skills, and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in the banking/financial sector.
Scholarship Requirements
- Open to all citizens of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam
- Age of 25 years old and below
- Aspire to pursue a career in the financial and banking industry
- Applicants who are currently in their diploma/foundation/matriculation/pre-university programme or equivalent and are about to start their undergraduate degree
- Applicant must not be a recipient of any other scholarship that comes with contractual obligations
- Obtained a minimum of:
- O-Level/SPM equivalent : Obtained a minimum of 8As (A and A+) in the recent SPM examination or at least 8As in the recent IGCSE.
- A-Level : 3As for GCE A-Level Programme
- STPM : 3As for STPM
- Foundation/Diploma : CGPA 3.50/4.00 for Diploma, Foundation or Matriculation Programme
- IB Diploma : 37 points for International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme
- AUSMAT : ATAR of 80 for AUSMAT

Application Process
- All applications are screened to ensure that the basic eligibility criteria are fulfilled.
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to take part in CIMB’s online assessments.
- Shortlisted applicants will meet with a panel of interviewers
- Shortlisted applicants will participate in our CIMB ASEAN Scholarship Assessment Centre
- Shortlisted applicants will undergo a final interview with CIMB Group’s senior management team.
