Full scholarship including tuition fees and other related study fees
The Sarawak Energy Scholarship is a programme by Sarawak Energy to support academically strong Sarawakian students who wish to pursue pre‑university (Foundation / A‑Levels) or an undergraduate degree at approved local or international universities.
The goal is to develop talented youths from Sarawak — especially in fields relevant to energy, sustainability, engineering, technology, commerce — and to nurture a future workforce aligned with the state’s development needs.
Scholarship Requirements
Applicants for Pre-U (Foundation or A-Level)
- 21 years old or below during the time of application.
- Minimum 8As in SPM examination (Trial SPM results accepted)
Applicants for Undergraduate/Bachelor's Degree
- 24 years or below at the time of application.
- Minimum 8As in SPM or CGPA 3.30 in STPM / Matriculation / Foundation / Diploma or excellent results in UEC.
General Requirements
- Open to Sarawakian students, who possess strong leadership qualities, are excellent team players, and excel in both extra-curricular activities and sports.
- Students, who wish to pursue Foundation / A-Level / Bachelor's Degree in the following fields in local universities (both public and private) or universities abroad:
- Electrical Engineering (*)(**)
- Civil Engineering ** / Mechanical Engineering**
- Information and Communication Technology (Software Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems / Digital Artificial Intelligence (AI))
- Accounting / Finance / Commerce
- Sustainability / Green Energy / Energy Transition
- Other Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Related Fields
- Not a recipient of any other scholarship or financial aid.
- No family member is currently a Sarawak Energy Scholarship recipient.
Award Details
Recipients of this scholarship will get sponsorship for all tuition fees, including registration and examination fees.
Application Process
The application is from 21st April – 25th May 2025
You may use your trial SPM result, UEC, STPM, Foundation, & Diploma result to apply.

If you do yet have a university offer letter after applying for the Sarawak Energy Scholarship, you are advised to apply to any local/private university/college and obtain a Letter of Acceptance soon. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an assessment and interview before the final selection.
