The second oldest university in Victoria, Australia was founded in 1958, setting the tone for cultivating innovation. The institute founded their first faculty; Engineering, in 1961 before Arts, Medicine, and Science followed. Monash University has made a significant impact locally and globally, from its Monash Research Park (now known as Monash Technology Precinct), to opening its campus abroad, notably the one we know very well in Malaysia. Monash's student population is over 86,000 strong, with 38% of it coming from all around the world. The university also brushes shoulders with the world's best, placing an impressive 42nd place in the QS World University Rankings, with Pharmacy and Pharmacology being their best ranked subject at #2 in the world for the discipline.

  • Original campus of Monash University. It was established in 1958 and first opened its doors to 363 students in 1961. The 100 hectares of open field was originally used for a variety of purposes including the Talbot Epileptic Colony, before being bought for the university. The early days of the campus saw fields of mud and the library housed in a disused Volkswagen factory.
