Established in 1984, City University Malaysia was founded by a group of scholars with extensive global academic experience and a passion to empower the next generation. Originally known as Petaling Jaya Community College, the University has made significant advances over the years towards fulfilling its Vision of being a globally renowned industry-focused institution. As one of Malaysia’s earlier private higher education institutions, the University attained full university status in 2016 and now has more than 7,500 students with over 38,000 alumni.
Rated in the most recent Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education SETARA-2022 as Competitive, City University Malaysia has an outstanding record for academic quality. Aligned with its industry focus, the University was in year 2022 ranked 13th amongst ASEAN private universities for applied higher education.
