Applicants must meet any of the following minimum requirement:
- Diploma
- SPM: 7As
- IGCSE: 6As
- Foundation
- SPM: 5A
- IGCSE: 6As
- Degree:
- UEC: 5As
- STPM/A-Level: 1A
- TAR UMT Diploma/Foundation: CGPA 3.75
- Matriculation: CGPA 3.75
- SAM/WACE: ATAR 90
- CPU: 90%

- Recipient must get straight passes in all courses (including co-curriculum for Diploma) and maintenance requirements are based on scholarship quantum.
- There shall be NO upward adjustment even if scholars obtained a higher CGPA threshold thereafter.
- Merit scholarship is for full-time programmes.

- CGPA Maintenance differ according to quantum of fee waiver:
- CGPA 3.50 & above: Maintained as 100%
- CGPA 3.25 - 3.4999: Adjusted down to 50%
- CGPA 3.00 - 3.2499: Adjusted down to 25%
- CGPA 3.00 - 3.2499: Maintained 20% & 15%
- CGPA below 3.00: Scholarship withdrawn
- There shall be NO upward adjustment even if scholars obtained a higher CGPA threshold thereafter.
