The Kijang Pre‑University Scholarship is aimed at high‑achieving Malaysian SPM leavers who plan to do pre‑university (e.g. A‑Level) at one of BNM‑approved colleges. Successful recipients get full financial support — this includes tuition fees and subsistence/living allowances — so they can focus on their studies without financial worry.
Once scholars complete pre‑university — and meet BNM’s requirements for undergraduate admission — they may proceed to undergraduate studies under BNM’s scholarship scheme. After finishing their degree, recipients are expected to serve a bond at BNM for a period (commonly two years of service for every one year of study).

The scholarships are part of BNM’s commitment to build human capital and contribute to national development.
Recipients are often given not just financial support, but also development opportunities, and in return, they commit to serve BNM for a certain period after graduation.
