AIMST University began operations in 2001 with an aim to be a premier private university offer technical education at affordable price. Its curriculum is based on that of University of Bristol UK combined with computer training, writing and research which prepares them for the workforce as well as application of technology to all aspects of their studies. Applicant must meet the minimum requirement for admission into AIMST degree programme.

Students must meet the minimum entry requirements of the programme applied and then progress to degree studies in AIMST:
- Foundation in Science (leading to MBBS/Dentistry/Pharmacy - 5Bs (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths & one any other subject)
- Foundation in Science (leading to other degrees) - 5Cs
- Foundation in Business - 5Cs
