Established in 1990, it was the first non-profit institute of higher education in Malaysia, which provided affordable learning for high school leavers.
Formerly known as Southern College, the Southern University College upgraded its status in 2012.
With a vision to build an international premier university with multi-cultural community while influencing the future of various careet pathways, the university college provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance their academic development.
They currently offer a broad range of programmes in the fields of business and management, art and design, engineering and information technology, Chinese medicine, education and public welfare.
The university college emphasises on the importance of modern and innovative research; Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, Research Institute of Chinese Ethnicity & Culture, Asian Renaissance and Literature Lyceum, and Research Institute of Malay Language and Culture.
With immense goals ahead, the university is on a mission to elevate its status as a full-fledged university by 2021 and become an internationally-recognised university by 2030.
